Only 3 things change as you move up the Audible plans: books you can choose each month, listen-all-you-want catalog included, unused picks carry over to next month. Everything else is the same on every plan, so those are the only questions worth asking yourself.

Common questions about Audible plans
What exactly is a credit?
A credit is simply a voucher for one audiobook. Your membership gives you one or two each month. You can use a credit on almost any book, however expensive it is, and that book then belongs to you for good – even if you cancel later.
What happens to my books if I cancel?
Any book you bought outright or chose with a credit stays in your library forever. Books you were only borrowing from the listen-all-you-want catalog disappear when your membership ends.
Is it cheaper to pay once a year?
Yes. The 12-credit yearly plan is $149.50, which is about $12.46 a month, compared with $14.95 a month if you pay monthly. The catch is that you pay the whole amount up front.
I'm an Amazon Prime member – do I get a discount?
Amazon often offers Prime members a low introductory rate, such as $0.99 a month for the first four months. After the offer ends the normal price applies, so make a note of the date it changes.

Audible renamed its tiers: the plans previously marketed as 'Audible Premium Plus' are now shown simply as 'Audible Premium' on Audible's help pages, while the sign-up page uses friendly names ('Casual Listener' $8.99, 'Avid Listener' $14.95). Audible Plus (catalog-only, $7.95) closed to new customers on March 3, 2026 per Audible's help page. Audible is owned by Amazon; a separate Amazon Prime membership is not required. All plans include a 30-day free trial. Prices bought through the Apple App Store may be higher than prices on Audible.com.
