Common questions about ChatGPT plans
Do I have to pay to use ChatGPT at all?
No. The Free plan costs nothing and lets you have as many ordinary text conversations as you like. You only pay if you want more pictures, more file uploads, longer research or the smarter models.
What happens when I run out of my monthly allowance?
It stops letting you use that feature and tells you to wait, usually a few hours. Nothing is charged automatically. You can wait, or move up to a bigger plan.
What is the difference between Pro at $100 and Pro at $200?
Nothing except how much you can use. Both have exactly the same features. The $200 one simply lets you do about four times as much before you hit a limit.
Can I cancel whenever I like?
Yes. Paid plans are month by month. If you cancel, you keep the paid features until the end of the month you have already paid for, then drop back to Free.
