Common questions about Google AI (Gemini plans) plans

Is this the same thing as Google One?

It is sold through Google One, but these are the AI plans. Google One also sells plain storage plans with no AI included, which are cheaper. If all you want is somewhere to keep photos, you do not need one of these.

Do I need a paid plan to use Gemini at all?

No. Gemini is free to use with a Google account. A paid plan gives you more use before it stops you, better tools for making pictures and videos, and more storage.

Can my family use my plan?

Google says the benefits of the AI Plus plan can be shared with up to five other family members. Sharing arrangements on the other plans are not spelled out on the pages checked.

Why are there two Ultra plans at different prices?

They are the same plan with different amounts of use and storage. The $100 one gives five times as much Gemini use as AI Pro and 20 terabytes of storage; the $200 one gives twenty times as much and 30 terabytes.

Where this information comes from

Checked 21 September 2026. Google One's plan pages draw their prices in the browser, so no price could be read directly from one.google.com; every price here comes from another official Google page (a Google blog announcement or a Google product page). Google does not publish exact counts for video generations, research reports or notebook limits on any plan, so those are recorded as Google's own relative wording ("expanded", "highest limits") rather than numbers. A Google AI Pro variant with 10 TB of storage exists but was not priced on any page checked. The free Gemini tier is not listed here because it is not sold as a Google One plan. Storage-only Google One plans are covered separately under the google-one slug by another researcher; this file deliberately covers only the AI plans.
