Common questions about Dropbox plans
Is Dropbox free?
There is a free plan called Basic, but it only gives 2 GB of space, which is about 600 photos. Most people who use Dropbox regularly end up paying for Plus.
Is Family cheaper than everyone buying their own plan?
Yes, if two or more people need it. Family is $16.99 a month for up to 6 people, while two separate Plus plans would cost about $19.98. Remember the 2 TB of space is shared by everyone, not 2 TB each.
If I delete something by mistake, can I get it back?
Yes. On the free and personal plans Dropbox keeps deleted files for 30 days. Go to the website, click Deleted files, find the file and choose Restore.
Do I have to install anything?
No, you can use Dropbox entirely in a web browser. Most people also install the program so a Dropbox folder appears on their computer like any other folder.

'Professional' has been replaced by 'Essentials' according to Dropbox's help centre, but no official page listing its price could be read.
