Common questions about Google One plans

What happens if I run out of Google storage?

You can still read your email and look at your photos, but Gmail stops accepting new messages and Google Photos and Drive stop saving new files. Buying a plan fixes it right away.

Do I already get some storage for free?

Yes. Every Google account comes with 15 GB at no cost, shared between Gmail, Google Photos and Google Drive. You only need a paid plan when that fills up.

Google changed the names of its plans. What happened to 'Premium 2 TB'?

Google reorganised its plans around its AI assistant. The storage-only plans are now called Basic (100 GB) and Standard (200 GB), and the 2 TB level is now sold as part of Google AI Plus. Older articles may still use the old names.

Can my husband or wife use the same plan?

Yes, on every plan except the small 30 GB 'Lite' plan. One person pays and can invite up to five family members. Each person's files stay private to them.

Where this information comes from

IMPORTANT LIMITATION: one.google.com shows prices only after the page loads its pricing panel for a signed-in visitor, so most prices could not be read from the official site. Verified prices come from Google's own Gemini subscriptions page (AI Plus $4.99, AI Pro $19.99, AI Ultra from $99.99) and Google Photos Help (100 GB for $1.99). The 200 GB Standard price and the 2 TB AI Plus price are null and marked uncertain. Google's help centre also lists a 'Google One Lite' 30 GB plan (no family sharing) whose price could not be read; it is not included as a plan here. Yearly prices were not readable for any tier.
