Common questions about iCloud+ plans
Do I get any iCloud storage without paying?
Yes. Every Apple account includes 5 GB at no cost. That is usually not enough to back up an iPhone, which is why most people move to the $0.99 plan.
What happens if my iCloud storage fills up?
Your iPhone stops making backups, new photos stop going to iCloud, and iCloud email stops accepting messages. Nothing already stored is deleted. Buying more space fixes it straight away.
Do the privacy features cost extra?
No. Private Relay, Hide My Email, a custom email address and Apple Invites are included with every paid iCloud+ plan, even the cheapest $0.99 one.
Can my family use my plan?
Yes. Any paid plan can be shared with up to five other family members through Family Sharing. Each person's photos and files stay private to them.

All prices are monthly and were read from Apple's official support page on 2026-09-21. The only feature that changes between plans, apart from the amount of space, is how many home security cameras you can record. Apple also sells iCloud+ inside the Apple One bundle; bundle prices were not on the page checked.
