Common questions about Apple Fitness+ plans
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No, not any more. Apple Fitness+ works on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV on its own. An Apple Watch is optional – if you have one, it shows your heart rate and calories on screen during the workout.
Is it cheaper to pay by the year?
Yes. $79.99 for a year works out at about $6.67 a month, compared with $9.99 paying month by month – a saving of roughly $40 a year.
Can my husband or wife use it too?
Yes, at no extra cost. Up to six people in one family can each use it with their own account, as long as they are joined together in Apple's Family Sharing. You do not need to buy a separate family plan.
Is there a cheaper way to get it if I already pay for Apple Music or iCloud?
Possibly. Apple sells a bundle called Apple One, and its top level includes Fitness+ along with Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and extra iCloud storage for $39.95 a month for the whole family. If you already pay for two or three of those separately, the bundle can work out cheaper.

Bundle: Apple Fitness+ is included in the top Apple One bundle. Apple's page lists Apple One at $21.95, $27.95 or $39.95 a month depending on the level chosen, and states that the bundle combines Fitness+ with five other Apple subscriptions (Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple News+, Apple Arcade and iCloud+). Only the $39.95 Premier level includes Fitness+. Anyone already paying for several Apple services should compare that bundle against paying separately. All Apple Fitness+ billing goes through the Apple account, so cancelling is done in iPhone or iPad Settings rather than on a website. Apple Fitness+ requires an Apple device - it does not work on Android.
